I came across Zhao Chuang this morning - the man who builds dinosaurs and sells them for a living.  I thought that building Marmaduke was a big project, but this guy has to be the king of dinosaur builders.  He and his team push out a dinosaur model a month, which is an amazing rate of production.  And the attention to detail is quite phenomenal. He originally started out as a paleoartist and illustrated the front cover of Nature, one of the leading scientific journals on Earth, so he draws on those painting and drawing skills when building his 3D creations.  Watch the short video here.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Gerald Davie is the Dinoman. He is a professional geologist with a passion for palaeontology and earth history.  When he isn't consulting, he spends his time travelling locally and abroad, and there is always a geological component to his trips.  He is the owner of the only Tyrannosaurus skeleton in the Southern Hemisphere, to be seen at the DinoZone Museum and Geo Centre.
