About

You are now in the perfect place to learn about Dinosaurs

The DinoZone is the place to learn about dinosaurs and their world.  The Mesozoic lasted from 251 million years to 65 million years ago.  It is a period when Earth changed a great deal from a geological point of view, so we will learn some geology, earth history, and also something about rocks and minerals as we journey through the Mesozoic world.

The DinoZone is in a geological hotspot

The DinoZone is headed up by Dinoman, an earth scientist who has been doing geology for the last 30 years and was mad about dinosaurs when he was a kid, and is still mad about them now. So you will be in good hands.  The DinoZone is based in a geological and geomorphological hotspot – namely South Africa – which is home to the greatest collection of Permian-age fossils on Earth, the largest and oldest meteorite impact crater, the richest gold mines, the world's largest igneous intrusion stuffed full of platinum and chromium, some of the earliest forms of life, and a host of other geological wonders besides.
