Welcome to dinosaur country. Welcome to the Mesozoic and the amazing creatures called dinosaurs that lived back then. You have probably heard of the Jurassic, but we mustn’t forget about those other two time periods which bookend the Jurassic - the Triassic and the Cretaceous - which together make up the Mesozoic. Meaning 'Middle Life', this was the time when the dinosaurs, along with their cousins the Ichthyosaurs, the Plesiosaurs and the Pterosaurs, ruled the world. If you are a dinosaur nut you will probably know all about these amazing creatures. If you aren’t, you have come to the perfect place to learn everything there is to learn about dinosaurs.
Hey! Seeing that you are here, and being the dinosaur fan that you are, go check out our DinoZone YouTube channel which is full of wonderful videos on all things palaeontological.
A time when the Dinosaurs ruled the Earth
We invite you to join us on a journey through time. A time when the dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Dinosaurs were the largest and most amazing animals that ever existed and they were the bosses of the Mesozoic – a time which stretched from 251 million years to 65 million years ago – which is by any account a very very long time ago. We are lucky enough to be living at at time when palaeontologists are digging up those ancient bones and showcasing what life was like back then.
You have come to the perfect place
Now if you don’t know much about dinosaurs, the DinoZone is going to be the place to be for learning about these wonderful creatures. If you are already a dinosaur fan, then there is always more to be learned, so you are also in the right place. The DinoZone website is a good place to start but we also have a museum.
One of the most famous dinosaurs of them all was Tyrannosaurus rex – or T-rex for short. The DinoZone has its very own T rex skeleton which you can visit at the DinoZone Dinopark. Find out more by clicking on the button below.
The biggest, the fastest, the oldest, the most famous
It is impossible to cover everything about dinosaurs in one place. And we wouldn’t want to even try. What we are able to do is to write about all sorts of dinosaur things – things like the biggest, the fastest, the smallest, the oldest. We will look at some of the most famous dinosaurs that we love so much, and some of the less well known. Go exploring for dinosaurs by clicking on the button below.
Others stumped up the money to build cathedral-like museums
We will go adventuring to the old classic bone digs, and find out where they are digging up the latest finds. There were also a host of larger-than-life characters who risked their money, their reputation and in some instances their lives to bring home the treasure-trove of dinosaur fossils for us all to marvel at. Others stumped up the money to build cathedral-like museums to house these bone collections – and we will visit these museums to check out these amazing displays.
Top places to see iconic dinosaurs
Places like the American Museum of Natural History, the British
Natural History Museum, and the Peabody Museum are just three of the top places to see these iconic dinosaurs. We shall visit these amazing stores of ancient life, and marvel at the wonderful displays and meet the people who put them together. Read more about dinosaurs, bone digging expeditions, famous palaeontologists and wonderful by clicking on the button below.

MY NAME IS
Dinoman
I have been doing this geology thing for nearly thirty years, and during that time my travels have taken me to some amazing places, which include the volcanoes of Indonesia, the San Andreas Fault in California, the high Himalayas, the East African Great Rift Valley and the vastness of the Makgadigadi Pans in Southern Africa.
I have visited museums in the USA, England, Europe and Southern Africa and plan to visit many more, to bring you the low-down on what is happening in the world of dinosaurs.
